SWV acts as the family member you need to know to get that job at the plant. We will develop contacts within the major sea farers unions, Military Sealift Command, NOAA, the five major US Maritime College Programs, multiple accredited maritime training institutions, and the USCG.
Through these contacts we will help our Vets decide the right training track for them. If they already have creditable sea time and maritime skills we will help them attain USCG licensing and employment as soon as practical. If training is required we act as their personal guidance counselor and tutor. Initially we offer limited financial aid that veterans can use to get:
- US PASSPORT (REQUIRED TO WORK ON WATER) ($120)
- US MERCHANT MARINER DOCUMENTS ($150)
- TRANSPORTATION WORKER IDENTIFICATION TWIC ($120)
